Predict the Race (predicttherace.com) is a free F1 prediction game for groups of friends: everyone predicts the top 10 of qualifying and the race, the official results come in automatically, and you join with a league code, without an account or password.
Who makes Predict the Race?
Predict the Race is made by Danny de Visser from Rotterdam, who also makes PadelBracket (padel-bracket.com). He started it for his own group of friends. Predict the Race is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with Formula 1, the FIA or any F1 team.

How does Predict the Race stay free?
Predict the Race is a fan project with no business model: no ads, no subscription, no paid features, and no data sold on. Everyone can use everything, without an account. There is no money in the game either: no entry fee, no pot and no prizes.
Visitor statistics with Google Analytics are only added if you say yes to them yourself. What is stored exactly is in the privacy statement.
How does Predict the Race work behind the scenes?
The calendar, the entry lists and the results come from OpenF1, a public source of Formula 1 data. A GitHub Action fetches them automatically and stores them in a Supabase database, and the app works out the points and the standings from there. The site runs on GitHub Pages and the source code is public on GitHub.
After a race, the sync checks in two more rounds whether a penalty changed the result, and the app scores it again if so.
